Opinions, plans, and solving problemsLesson 5 · B1 · 10 minutes

In this lesson

Tell someone about a plan you have already decided.

The idea, simply

Use be going to for a plan you decided before speaking: I am going to start a new job. Use will for a decision made at the moment of speaking or for a promise: I will help you. Use the present continuous for an arrangement with a time and place: I am meeting the client at ten tomorrow. The difference is when the decision was made, not the future itself.
